Town Finally Get Their Hands On The Coveted Championship Shield

With Metropolitan Police Bushey faltering at the last hurdle and losing against Town and then Bovingdon. Hatfield only required a draw from their final fixture at Whitewebbs to secure the League Championship crown. As it was they comprehensively beat their hosts 3-0 to claim all three points and put clear daylight between themselves and Met Police. On a miserably wet evening, League Chairman, Cecil Hudson presented the League Shield to club Captain, Gary Coley and his squad, much to the delight of the Hatfield contigent who had braved the weather to watch Town's final match in the Herts Senior County League. Town will commence the 2008/09 campaign back in the Spartan South Midlands League for the first time since the 1995/96 season.
